This week we have been working with some of our funders to provide delicious healthy meals and activities to local families. Using a meal planner we purchased ingredients for families to make 3-4 meals and snacks from scratch in their own homes.
We also included some craft resources, books and games for some families to enjoy over the holiday period. We are very grateful to have received funding from Teesdale Action Partnership and the Healthy Activities with Food Fund.
This has given us the boost needed to purchase these extra food items. We have been able to order some fresh fruit and veg from Carricks this week and have also been lucky enough to receive some tasty cream cakes via local group Covid Cutz. These have been a welcome boost for all our care package recipients.
The half term holidays won’t have felt much different for many families, with the exception of a week off home schooling. Travel restrictions are still in place which means families are limited to the activities they can enjoy together.
We hope that our extra additions to the deliveries this week have helped raise spirits amongst our community.
