Why do we still send out Teesdale Care Packages? ❤️
It’s hard to believe that it’s been six and a half years since TCR launched the Teesdale Care Package scheme, inspired by the vision of our former CEO, Rachel Elliott.
Since then, the scheme has become a huge and much-loved part of the work we do at TCR and it’s something we’re incredibly proud to continue delivering today.
Behind every care package is an amazing team of dedicated volunteers who source, pack and deliver food and essential items to those who need a little extra support. We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who helps TCR with the many other things we do every single day.
We work alongside nurses, doctors, teachers, midwives, social prescribers and organisations across our community, all helping us identify where support is needed and making sure these packages reach the people who need them most.
This is why; “I am writing to let you know that I am finally back on my feet and doing well after my surgery. Thank you so much for the wonderful support you provided over the last few weeks. The food parcels help made a difference to my recovery when I could not get out myself. I truly appreciate your kindness and care. I am glad to say that I can manage my own shopping again now, so I do not need any further deliveries. Thank you all again for being there for me when I needed it most!”
