This Christmas, we cannot gather to see the lights switch on but this amazing community deserves celebrating!
TCR Hub invite you to take one simple action: decorate an empty jam jar by December 1st, place a lit candle* inside (electric or otherwise) and display it in your windows with the words, “We light up Teesdale“. You can put these on your jar if you wish or alternatively, decorate a little sign to go with the jar in your window.
Join us to make your jam jar lantern in a virtual Homemade Christmas workshop with our Family Activities Coordinator Sarah Gent at 6.30pm on 26th November. By making together, we aim to share a happy hour of crafting whilst learning a new skill using recycled materials. We can also send you jam jars, candles, nail varnish and tissue paper, as well as share craft tips (whether you are attending the workshop or not).
Visit our what’s on page here to learn more about the workshop and also to book. Contact our Family Activities Coordinator Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07876 238857 if you would be interested in a workshop at an alternative time or would like a pack of materials.
We can also run this session with schools and would gladly respond to your requests so don’t hesitate to get in touch. Let’s Light Up Teesdale this winter.
*if you are using a real candle, please take care and read the Fire Safety advice here for candles from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue services.
