As many of the Barnard Castle Primary School Year Five and Six pupils will tell you, there is a Lantern Parade afoot on Friday 3rd December!
We are delighted to be working on plans for Light Up Barnard Castle, a parade for Barnard Castle to celebrate our amazing community spirit that has been so evident over the last challenging eighteen months. It is thanks to people’s good will and kindness that we have enjoyed some really special times together in both 2020 and 2021, and those moments have acted as the light in the darkness of the Covid pandemic.
We want to join with you to celebrate this with a Parade of handmade willow lanterns, decorated in blues and greens inspired by the river Tees, the water that connects us all through the dale. It is through community that we are connected so the river feels very appropriate, as it winds its way through our villages and town.
We are awaiting confirmation from the Town Council of the Christmas Lights plans as well as finalising some of the details around the parade but encourage you to save the date and watch this space for more information.
Together, we will make this a very special event here in Barnard Castle this Christmas.
We are so close to releasing the tickets for this spectacular community event. Come and enjoy beautiful handmade lanterns sparkling together alongside delicious food, drinks and live music.
Join our mailing list by emailing Sarah.email@example.com to be the first to find out when tickets are released.
Our thanks to the Covid Control Outbreak Management Fund for supporting this project and enabling it to happen.
