Manager Rachel Tweddle returns to the Hub on 3rd January following her maternity leave and spoke of her plans for the new year and of her excitement regarding some of the events and classes already in place.
“As the new year begins we are very much looking forward to a new series of classes and planned events at the TCR Hub.
We have three new yoga classes starting; Yoga Bunnies on Tuesday 10th January, 10:00-10:30 Preschool Yoga (suitable from 2yrs); Thursday 12th January 16:00-16:30 for ages 4-7 yrs and Thursday 16:30-17:00 for ages 8-11yrs. Full details available on facebook .
We are re-launching the café with a new menu including lighter options providing tasty and healthy choices for everyone.
Our wellbeing classes work really well at the Hub, being popular and well attended and this is one area we are keen to expand. If anyone requires a venue in which to hold a class, please contact our staff on 01833 690150.
We are massively looking forward to the expansion of the music provision at the Hub having secured the services of some exciting and innovative teachers.
Katie Bottomley is a very experience music teacher who will be delivering graded lessons and facilitating our community choir.
Michael Bedwell is a qualified and highly experienced musician of ‘Los Capitanos’ renown and will be opening the music studio on a Thursday evening and is also delivering graded music lessons.
Rosie Bradford, our third new music team member, brings huge passion and experience and will be working on the Teesdale Soul Band.
Rupert Philbrick joins us in order to provide ukulele lessons and to facilitate a youth choir and will expand the provision of music into a Saturday morning.
We are delighted that 3 young people, previously volunteers will now be paid trainees. Their training will include the teaching of guitar, keyboard and drums; sound technician and event management.
All of the new staff joining us have real passion, enthusiasm and experience and we are looking forward to their input into our thriving music provision.
On January 19th we have a cinema event organised by the Labour party with a screening of Ken Loach’s “I Daniel Blake”. There will be a collection with proceeds going to a charity for the homeless.
In February we are hosting a Wedding Fayre with many local exhibitors already confirmed and full details to follow . We are also delighted to be on the shortlist for the Teesdale Business Awards Best Business Award with the award ceremony being held on Wednesday 15 February, 2017.
Looking further ahead we are once again hosting the wonderful Harambee Pasadia festival in May.
