Whilst re-developing the TCR Hub website I have enjoyed meeting some of the visitors to the Hub who participate in the diverse activities which take place here. It has been a pleasure to create this website in which I have tried to illustrate the depth and variety of activities, and the passion demonstrated by those who enjoy them.
From school-children on the High Ropes to the “Games for the Brain” sessions held by the Alzheimers Society, the TCR Hub has a thriving variety of regular users and offers a versatility of use which makes it unique in Teesdale.
On Monday 14th November I was witness to a very different use of the centre!
Charles Dickens arrived, accompanied by several of his peers and closely followed by a distinctly 21st century film crew!
The “Dickens in Teesdale” society members arrived in full Dickensian regalia to take part in a film shoot, details of which will be unveiled as part of the Barnard Castle Christmas lights switch on.
I am sworn to secrecy regarding how Dickens and friends will manifest themselves, but all will be revealed to visitors of Barnard Castle when they enjoy the Christmas lights spectacular.
“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” Charles Dickens
