Armed Forces personnel, Veterans and their families are invited to TCR Hub on Wednesday 2 June for a special day of Arts and Crafts for Wellbeing with Veterans Woodcraft.
Try your hand at wood carving and whittling, wood turning, Fret and Scroll Saw work and hand pottery.
Bring the whole family for a great day out and learn a new skill together whilst having fun.
Booking is essential so we know how many people will be visiting at any one time. Please book your 60 minute slot – if the event fills, we will need to ensure that you leave one hour after your arrival time to ensure that there is space for the next people to enjoy the crafts demonstration.
Social distancing measures are in place to ensure that all our guests are comfortable and are within Covid guidelines whilst visiting TCR Hub.

This is part of the Through Soldiers’ Eyes Project. This is a combination of creative arts engagement with the Armed Forces Community across County Durham, and an exhibition of both historical and contemporary arts by those currently serving; Veterans; Armed Forces Families; Service Leavers and all those who have a connection to the Armed Forces Community. The project also aims to raise awareness within the county of the Armed Forces Community who live and work among us.
Visual Art has a longstanding relationship with our Armed Forces, often being the conduit for the shared recording of service life; deployment; conflict; peacekeeping; the cultures and people encountered throughout the world, and creativity has a well-established link with wellbeing; self-expression and mental health through art and creative expression.
